Tom began this High Performance Leadership Project (HPLP) in May 2011 with a guidance committee and an action team. Tom’s vision was to promote Toastmasters and storytelling to the wider community. Dundas Toastmasters Club were proud to support Prince of Storytellers Tom Ware in his HPLP. Residual profits from this HPLP were to be donated to the Ralph C. Smedley Memorial Fund to promote affordable training in communication and leadership. A total of $900.00 was donated to the Ralph Smedley Memorial Fund.
On 12/12/2012 a commemorative plaque was presented to Toastmaster Tom Ware acknowledging his donation to the Ralph Smedley Memorial Fund. Past President Prema D’Cruz was presented with a special ribbon to honour the Dundas Toastmasters club’s contribution to the fund. Both awards were presented on behalf of Toastmasters International and commemorate a unique achievement in District 70 – a donation to the Ralph Smedley Fund. Tom’s aim was that by challenging himself in his own HPLP other Toastmasters would be encouraged to Dream Big and Achieve Big in their own HPLP and so bring the benefits of Toastmasters to more people. ‘Titanic – A Night to Remember’ showcased the best of Toastmasters – and is now Concluded.
